No, Glade Air Fresheners and all other SC Johnson aerosols have been chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) free since 1975.

Are Glade Air Fresheners cans recyclable?
Yes, Glade Air Fresheners and other SC Johnson empty steel and aluminum aerosol cans can be recycled along with other empty steel and aluminum cans in many communities that operate recycling programs.

Steel can is recyclable. Did you know that each year, if every aerosol can produced were recycled, the steel saved could build 160,000 cars? Recycling those aerosol cans would also save the energy equivalent of 5.7 million barrels of oil.
