DIY Mistletoe Prism

Thinking of someone special? Make your own mistletoe this season. It’s an easy way to share joy and good tidings!

Materials:

Cocktail straws (12)
White thread
Needle
Scissors
Gold spray paint
Mistletoe
Winterberries
Ruler
Hot glue gun or super glue
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Start with measuring and cutting eight cocktail straws to 2½" (Note that four of these straws will be used to create the square and four of these will be used to create the base of the prism). Measure and cut four straws to 3¾" of an inch. Use the needle to pull thread through four of the 2½" cocktail straws. Tie ends together to create square.

Step 2: Thread two of the 3¾" straws, and tie to opposite square corner (this is the start of creating the prism shape). Pull thread through square straw to next corner. Thread one of the 3¾" straws and tie to center of previously threaded pair freshener, (to the top of prism).

Step 3: Thread the final 3¾" inch straws and tie to remaining square corner. Thread two of the 2½" inch straws, and tie to opposite square corner (this is the start of creating the bottom of the prism shape).

Step 4: Pull thread through square straw to next corner. At this point you should be threading like a pro! Thread one of the 2½" straws and tie to center of previously threaded pair freshener, (to the bottom point of the prism).

Step 5: Thread the other two 2½" straws and tie to remaining square corner. Cut any extra thread. Tie length of thread at top to use to suspend from arch or doorframe. Gather sprigs of mistletoe, insert into prism and allow to fall through and hang. Hot glue berries in place. Then, find your special someone and lead them to the mistletoe.
